Where are you from?

Bowling Green, Kentucky

How did you get into the painting industry?

On a whim. I was looking to do something different and wanted to make some money to remodel my living room. I’ve always loved painting and dove in not knowing if anyone would accept a female painter. It’s now six years later and I haven’t had the time to remodel my living room.

When did you join the PCA?

2019

What’s your favorite color?

Ha! There’s no such thing when you’re a painter because there’s so many amazing colors and they can all look different depending on the surface, space and lighting.

What’s one thing people don’t know about you?

I’m extremely sensory and I can often sense things about people’s feelings, concerns or if they’re struggling with something.

What would be your last meal?

A really good cheeseburger, fries, and a Diet Pepsi.

Three objects you’d bring to a deserted island:

  1. Pocket knife
  2. Blanket
  3. Picture of my family

What’s your favorite book?

I don’t know, something entertaining or cheesy. I have a short attention span and can’t focus on anything serious or educational for more than a couple of pages.

Favorite musician or group?

How about music type? Anything upbeat that makes you want to sing along. I’m all about the vibe and how I want to feel in-the-moment. (I’m sure you’ve caught on, I don’t choose just one favorite very well – variety is the spice of life!)

What’s the best movie or TV show you’ve seen in the last 12 months?

Ted Lasso  (binge watched all seasons… soo good)

My two pups – Wicket and Bandit

Ham and pineapple! Yup, pineapple goes on pizza!

“No regrets” and “Treat others better than you’d want to be treated.“

What’s your biggest pet peeve?

People who are rude to others or customer service.

If you could tell your past self one thing, what would you say?

Be confident in your abilities and what you have to offer.

What historic event would you like to have experienced?

I can’t think of anything, and personally, I don’t want to live in the past. I focus on the now and I’m working putting more focus on the future.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned?

As painful as mistakes and missteps can be in the moment, if you take time to reflect and grow from them, you’ll come out stronger than if everything had gone perfectly.

Who is your hero?

In the paint world, I have a handful of She-roe’s.  They’re women who’ve inspired me, encouraged/supported me, or made me want to be better: Maggie Kuyper, Corrie Leister, Michal Cheney, Hannah Khalaf and Jessica Galloway.

What are you grateful for?

I’m grateful for the paint community and PCA. You’re my people.

Why you should join the PCA:

The benefits are plentiful and the network of people is priceless. When I started my business with no idea what I was doing, I found PCA and my path. Together we’re a community that’s setting standards and helping elevate the entire Painting Industry.
