Demand for industrial coatings continues to grow worldwide as manufacturers push for greater durability, improved sustainability, and more efficient finishing technologies.
That’s according to a recent report from Towards Chem & Materials, a market research and consulting firm focused on the chemicals and materials industries.
The global industrial coatings market was valued at roughly $117 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach about $176 billion by 2035, which represents a steady compound annual growth rate of just over 4% during the 10-year forecast period, the report estimates.
Geographically, the Asia-Pacific region continues to dominate the market. In 2025, the region generated more than 40% of total industrial coatings revenue.
Adoption of waterborne and powder coatings in particular has been growing as manufacturers seek alternatives to traditional solvent-based systems.
