Perched 60 feet in the air on a boom lift, L&J Painting had a serene bird’s-eye view of the lush treetops around the St. John of the Ladder Church in Greenville, SC.
The assignment was clear: the church’s wood trim had aging, failing paint; a few leaking windows at the sanctuary’s peak were jeopardizing the ornate interior. Inside, a parishioner had meticulously painted iconography on canvas stretched along the sanctuary walls. Those murals were irreplaceable, and even minor water intrusion could prove disastrous.
L&J Painting began with a thorough power wash to prep the surfaces, followed by targeted caulking to seal every vulnerable seam. They then repainted the wood trim across the entire exterior, carefully preserving the integrity of the newly installed siding.
“The opportunity to work with a local church was great,” says owner Michael Sanchez. “The boom lift was 60 feet, so at the peak, we got to see some cool views.”
