Benjamin Moore is expanding its footprint in the United Kingdom with the launch of two new subsidiaries and the addition of a historic Scottish paint brand to its portfolio.
The company announced the formation of BM Prudhoe Limited and C&R Scotland Limited earlier this month, marking Benjamin Moore’s second subsidiary in England and its first in Scotland.
According to the company, the move is designed to strengthen manufacturing, distribution, and long-term growth across the UK and surrounding regions.
“Strengthening our manufacturing and distribution capacity in the UK market and surrounding regions ensures the long-term growth of our business and enables us to meet the growing demand for premium paints and colors from professional end-users and homeowners alike,” said Chairman & CEO Dan Calkins in the announcement.
As part of the expansion, BM Prudhoe Limited has entered into an agreement to acquire a manufacturing facility in Northern England from Horizon Products, a private-label chemical manufacturer. Benjamin Moore said the site will help expand production capacity and improve supply chain stability in the region.
Meanwhile, C&R Scotland Limited entered into a conditional agreement to acquire Craig & Rose, a Scottish paint company founded in 1829. The brand is expected to serve premium residential contractors, architects and designers, and high-end consumers in the UK market.
Founded in 1883 and owned by Berkshire Hathaway, Benjamin Moore distributes its coatings through more than 8,500 independent retailers across North America and in 74 countries worldwide.
