Colors of 2025: Every color by major manufacturers

Every year the major paint manufacturers choose a “Color of the Year.”

The pick is often an under-the-radar pick or a trend picking up steam. The pick excites homeowners looking for inspiration, and can be a helpful guide for painting contractors as well.

Each manufacturer makes their own choice, so we end up with not just a “Color of the Year” but actually “Colors.” Throughout summer, seemingly every week brings a new color of the year.

It can be hard to keep track, so here is a list of the Color of the Year chosen across manufacturers:

Benjamin Moore: Cinnamon Slate (A delicate mix of heathered plum and velvety brown)

Behr: Rumors (A luxurious, ruby-red tone that balances warmth and drama)

Glidden (PPG): Purple Basil (a moody, deep purple with red undertones)

Valspar: Encore (a saturated deep blue)

Dunn‑Edwards: Caramelized (a warm, terracotta-like brown)

Pittsburgh Paints: Warm Mahogany (a deep, timeless red)

Sherwin‑Williams: A curated palette of nine shades:

  • Grounded (calming brown)
  • Mauve Finery (subtle mauve)
  • Sunbleached (soft sunlit tone)
  • Rain Cloud (muted gray-blue)
  • Clove (warm spice-like tone)
  • Malabar (a warm, neutral taupe)
  • Bosc Pear (a deep golden green)
  • White Snow (a crisp bright white)
  • Chartreuse (a bold yellow green)
