Newsweek names paint company among most charitable companies

We always love seeing companies from our industry make lists like Newsweek’s Most Charitable Companies 2026 list.

The annual ranking highlights companies that demonstrate significant contributions to communities through donations, volunteer work, and long-term social impact initiatives.

“The winners were compiled through an in-depth survey of 18,000 U.S. residents who evaluated brands across a wide range of industries including energy, finance, real estate, software and technology, including brands such as Evergy, General Motors, Mastercard, Salesforce and Wintrust,” Newsweek reports.

The final tally names 300 companies as the most charitable for 2026, and PPG made the list. PPG comes in at 244th overall and 11th in the Materials & Chemicals industry.

According to PPG, the company and the PPG Foundation invested $18.1 million globally in community programs during 2025. Those funds were directed toward initiatives focused on education, sustainability, and employee volunteerism.

“This recognition puts a spotlight on the commitments we make every day to protect and beautify the communities where we live and work,” said Malesia Dunn, executive director, PPG Foundation and corporate global social responsibility.

One of the company’s most visible initiatives is the Colorful Communities program, which organizes volunteer paint projects that help revitalize schools, community centers, and public spaces.

Since the program launched in 2015, more than 33,000 employee and community volunteers have participated in 635 projects across more than 50 countries, impacting an estimated 10.3 million people.
