Where are you from?
I am originally a Cheesehead, from Oshkosh Wisconsin. But after moving up and down the US throughout my life, we are happily settled in Nashville, TN.
How did you get into the painting industry?
It’s Matt’s fault. My husband brings a ton of experience in the commercial construction industry and when we decided to “do our own thing” a lot of God winks landed us on painting.
When did you join the PCA?
Within the first month of opening our business.
What’s your favorite color?
Brown.
What’s one thing people don’t know about you?
I love odd numbers more than even numbers.
What would be your last meal?
Fettuccine alfredo, broccoli, and tiramisu.
Three objects you’d bring to a deserted island:
- Bible
- Notebook (and pen)
- A blanket
What’s your favorite book?
The Great Divorce by CS Lewis (but I love to read, I could talk books all day)
Favorite musician or group?
I grew up listening to classic rock – Grateful Dead, Doobie Brothers, Bonnie Raitt… now I am subject to my kids’ choices, my husband’s choices, or if I am working alone I will run a low-key worship playlist on Spotify.
What’s the best movie or TV show you’ve seen in the last 12 months?
We really enjoyed the Knives Out series… but I will be honest, I am a big Bachelor franchise fan.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
My list of things to do and the opportunity for quiet time before the kids are awake.
What trait do you most admire in others?
Encouragement and kindness. And a good intellectual wit.
Favorite place to vacation?
Warm places with water.
What is your most treasured possession?
My three kiddos.
What sport did you play as a kid?
Tennis… and then volleyball, which ran me all the way through college.
What was your favorite toy?
Playmobil
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A teacher
What toppings do you put on your pizza?
If we are making at home: fig jam, sausage, goat cheese, mozzarella and sauteed onions. Don’t knock it until you try it.

What’s your biggest pet peeve?
Lack of closure or clarity, nothing keeps me more agitated

If you could tell your past self one thing, what would you say?
Learn more, always.
What historic event would you like to have experienced?
Moon Landing (that way we can settle the debate once and for all)
What’s the weirdest thing that ever happened to you?
This is a hard one… probably when our house flooded in 2010. While it was a tragic mess, it was also just weird. The whole town flooded and everything was just wet and gross. It was weird and I still cannot believe it happened.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
Refuel yourself before you are depleted… it’s much easier and way more effective.
Who is your hero?
My parents, always.
What are you grateful for?
My husband, daily.
