TOP JOB 2026 Rules

TOP JOB entries are evaluated by a panel of judges from APC and the PCA. We look at the quality of the photos and the descriptions of the work as the primary selection criteria, with a bonus for degree of difficulty or contribution to your local community. This is a highly competitive contest and unfortunately not everyone can be selected as one of the limited TOP JOB 2026 winners. To give yourself the best chance of success, follow these tips:

Submit 6-12 high-quality photos

These play a critical role in the selection process.

Be sure to:

    • Highlight key aspects of your project.
    • Include Before and After shots
    • Name your photos descriptively (e.g., “Ceiling Before” vs. “IMG_1234”).
    • Provide explanatory captions about what the photo is showing us (i.e. “Here we are applying Zinsser Shellac to block the smell from the previous owner’s pets.”)
 
Please answer all questions thoroughly
 
We know it’s tempting to zoom through the essay questions, but these words are 50% of the criteria we use to judge the entries.
 
We were not on the job site so we only know what you tell us. We’re asking you to help us understand your craftsmanship on this project step-by-step so that we can render an accurate evaluation.

In this case, it is perfectly acceptable and expected to brag. That’s what this contest is about.
 
Please take the time to put us in your shoes, so that we can see and feel what you did, and understand the clever solutions you discovered along the way.
